Educated Body worked closely with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) on a large BTR development in Stratford, East London. During the design stage, we delivered an operational concept design brief, along with block sketch operational flow diagrams and sizing layout plans for the wellness amenities.
The wellness facilities include an arrival space, swimming pool, vitality pool, sauna and steam room, as well as an extensive gym and studio offering. We also developed the gym equipment layout and provided a cost forecast to support the validation of future operating costs.
Our role as design-for-management and operational consultants extended over a prolonged period, working with multiple project teams appointed between 2017 and 2020. Throughout this time, we delivered the full scope of Educated Body consultancy services, resulting in spaces that operate efficiently, remain current, and are flexible enough to adapt over time.
The carefully considered operational design ensures a seamless and intuitive resident journey, with attention to detail enhancing the experience at every visit. In addition, URW incorporated an underwater drowning detection system within the swimming pool, providing an enhanced level of risk control for residents.
